Yesterday, it came to me.

I have been wasting my time here on this lovely planet of ours, spending countless hours worrying about the minutiae of my life while so many people out there have bigger things to worry about.  Like where their next meal will come from or how they will afford the next trip to the dentist.  No, I don’t have millions of dollars to give away (I wish I did!).  There is only me, Molly, who has enough time to spare to help those in need around her.

So begins my adventure.

Starting March 1st, 2010, I want to offer myself to people in the greater Charleston, SC area.  While other websites talk about doing good deeds like opening the door for someone or letting them cut in front of you in traffic, I want to do more.

Maybe you need someone to sit with an elderly parent while you run some errands, perhaps you are going away for a day and need someone to walk your dog, maybe you want to have a fundraiser where I can offer my services as a yoga teacher for free.  However, THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR FREE LABOR.  If you, someone you know or a local charity needs an extra hand, please send me an email explaining why, where and when, and if I deem if to be truly charitable, then I will do anything I can to help out.

We only have one life to live and I want to make the most out of mine.  So, for the next year, stay tuned and I predict that my quest will unearth some amazing and inspiring stories that I hope will push more people to give of their own time, rather than plopping down on the couch after work.
